Are you looking for a fun run to kick off a beautiful fall Saturday in Door County? Sign up now for the Sept. 24 Hey Hey 5K in Baileys Harbor.
The race has become an annual tradition as part of Baileys Harbor’s Autumnfest, when runners gather at Door County Brewing Co. for a 3.1-mile run through the town’s back roads before finishing at the brewery and raising a glass!
This race is all about having fun in classic Door County style. Runners get a race shirt, free pint glass and the first fill-up in the glass from Door County Brewing Co. Sign up in May to get it all for $30 before prices increase in June.
After the race, stick around Autumnfest to enjoy food, a classic auto and motorcycle show, live music and more fun.
The Hey Hey 5K is named for one of the favorite sayings of Baileys Harbor icon Freddie Kodanko, the late Polka King, who also inspired the name of one of Door County Brewing Co.’s signature beers, the Polka King Porter.
The race is brought to you by the Peninsula Pacers, creators of the Door County Half Marathon, Door County Beer Festival, Door County Pond Hockey Tournament and the Peninsula Century bicycle rides.
