Chris Schmitz of Fish Creek was the top finisher in the Hey Hey 5K on Sept. 23 at Door County Brewing Co. in Baileys Harbor.
Schmitz, 37, finished in 18:36 to top the field of 299 runners. Peter Schrader, 28, of West Bend finished second in 18:48, and Noah Bruehl, 24, of Madison finished 3rd in 18:51.
On the women’s side, Kate Nelson, 28, of Madison finished first overall in 20:37. She was followed by 28-year-old Raissa Ashman of Seymour (21:15) and Claire Guenther, 20, of Shawano (21:49). The top three finishers received gift cards from Door County Brewing Co., and children under 14 received gift packages and cards from Egg Harbor Fun Park.
